Abstract
Module 15 is the concluding on-site course. Module 15 covers Ayurveda for the medical professional, and provides the student with templates for Ayurvedic evaluation and prescription, within the scope of practice of the Professional Yoga Therapist. Module 15 also covers facets of sound and its use during therapy, including vocal production, preservation, and music. Lastly, the biomechanics of inversions are studied, which uses a level of evaluation and model of care prescription appropriate for use by post-graduate trained licensed medical professionals.

- Learn advanced posture modification based on pathophysiology and prevention.
- Add approximately 30 new postures and breathing techniques to your therapeutic yoga toolbox.
- Study biomechanics of inversions, including headstands and shoulderstands.
- Demonstrate understanding of teaching inversions and contraindications which would preclude practice of them.
- Understand gender differences in teaching therapeutic yoga.
- Cultivate an understanding of the importance of vocal quality and the use of music during therapy.
- Learn to apply limited principles of the science of Ayurveda in order to prescribe a regimen of yoga postures and breathing.
- Study individualized plan development for one on one sessions and for group based therapy.
- Learn to select music as a therapeutic modality for yoga classes for special and general populations.
- Study the anatomy and physiology of the voice and how its quality affects yoga therapy applications.
- Study the relationship between acupressure, marma point therapy (Indian acupressure), and conventional soft tissue mobilization techniques.
- Demonstrate use of manual therapy and biofeedback techniques during yoga postures to facilitate improve patient outcomes.
